Are you wondering where we got the name "Jukes Of Jax"?
The word "Juke Joint" is defined as a roadside or rural establishment offering liquor,
dancing and often gambling and prostitution primarily in the Southern States. Musicians
that first performed (we're talking about music here) in these establishments were
originally called Jukes. They were eventually replaced by less expensive mechanical
devices called Juke Boxes. In order to make a living, Musicians were forced to go "legit"
and work in more reputable establishments.
